This hat is a loose beanie/toque that I knitted for a friend.
Size: Circumference: 26" Length: 9 1/2"
Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rows to 4" in stockinette and ribbing (Ribbing is stretched in this measurement). I am nothing if not consistent.
Yarn requirements: C1: I love this yarn! Color: Linen. 3/4 skein, 270 yards.
C2: I love this yarn! Color: DK Country blue. 1/4 skein, 90 yards.
Needle sizes: Stockinette: US10s, Ribbing: US7s
Pattern instructions: Using C1 cast on 12 onto a US10 16 inch circular needle. Divide evenly, place marker, and using Magic Loop method, knit one row. (Rnd 1)
Rnd 2: Knit front and backs of all stitches (24 Stitches)
Rnd 3 (And all odd rounds): Knit all stitches.
Rnd 4: (Knit one, kfb) Until end of round (36 Stitches)
Rnd 6: (Knit two, kfb) Until end of round. (48 Stitches)
Continue in this fashion until you have 108 stitches. (Hint, you just knitted a round of "Knit 7, kfb")
Knit in plain stockinette until the piece reaches 7 inches.
Switch to US7 16 inch circular needle. (I switch because my rib gauge is always wacky, size changes may vary.
Continue in K1, P1 rib until the piece measures 9 1/2 inches.
Bind off using Jeny's incredibly stretchy bind off: , or a bind off of your choice.
Weave in ends.
Begin flower:
Petal:
Using C2 cast on 8.
Row 1 (RS) : Kfb, knit across row. (9 stitches)
Row 2 (WS) : Kfb, purl across row. (10 stitches)
Continue in this fashion until you have sixteen stitches. Then, work five rows in stockinette, ending the point where you are about to work a WS row.
Cut yarn.
Make 4 more petals in this fashion.
Purl across all petals (80 stitches).
K2tog across row (40 stitches)
P2tog across row (20 stitches)
K2tog across row (10 stitches)
P2tog across row (5 stitches)
Cut yarn, and thread through last five stitches, and sew up side of flower.
Weave in ends, attach to hat.
For the center, I used french knots in C1, you may want to use a button or something else.
Enjoy!

Yea....
Well, this site is gonna be mostly for patterns... Yea... Ok anyway. Pattern time.
Pattern: Quickie Braid Scarf/Belt
Yarn used: Hell if I know. Stash yarn. This is more of a template than a pattern. I'll just call them C1, C2, . You don't even need a 50 yards I don't think. Use any color combination you want.
Gauge: Doesn't matter. The scarf was about three feet long, and an inch and a half wide, braided.
Needles: US 15/ 10mm (Also a crochet hook of any size.)
Pattern: Cast on two in C1, and knit in Garter stitch until it reaches desired length. Cast off. Repeat with C2, and C3.
Take C1 (or 2, or 3... Doesn't matter...) and pull through all lengths of garter stitch. Crochet a strand around the three lengths, and pull strand of yarn through last loop.
Have someone hold one end of the scarf/belt. Braid the three lengths together. Then repeat crocheting on other end. If desired add crochet chains to ends.
This can be worn as a very skinny scarf, or a belt.

Zzzz
Gosh. I am a very tired child. Detasseling is hard work. Anyways, I don't really have too much to post about... Sorry everyone. Or no one. Whichever. I've been working on a sock, and it looks amazing. Well, goodbye.

HEAT WAVE OF DOOM.
Well, today I had detasseling. And guess what. IT WAS THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE DAMN SUMMER SO FAR. One girl passed out, and we had to end early. Poor girl. I'm friggin exhausted. :/ Oh well. I'm working on a black and blue sock for a friend. It's going well... I still have to figure out christmas gifts so I can start them... And I have to go school shopping, band camp. SO MUCH TO DO! I suppose I should also start my vest... Hmmm...

So much to do, so little time...
I have my goals. Some need to be accomplished within a few weeks, WITH my summer job, and some don't really need to be completed at all. But that doesn't mean I don't want to. Here are my goals for the next year or so:
Knitting things I need to do:
-Two and a half pairs of socks (By 8/2/10)
-One giant flower hat (By 8/2/10)
-MAYBE two more pairs of socks for a birthday (By 7/26/10. REALLY doubting this will happen)
-Slippers with fun fur for my little sister (No actual due date)
-A vest my grandma got me both the pattern and the yarn for. I've had it for quite a while. Haven't touched it. Oops. (No real due date. But I should really work on it.)
School goals:
-Get all A's and B's.
-Get something good in band class to play for percussion.
-Learn to play clarinet (By December or January would be nice, but mostly by next year)
-Learn the flute (God knows when this'll happen)
-Learn the viola (This one's looking up. Thank God)
-Idk what else...
Social Goals:
-Make more friends
-Get a date for once in my life
-Join more clubs
And that's about it! Quite a list. Yea... Oh well. Sounds fun.

Hello!
Well, welcome to my blog about pretty much everything. I know too much, and I have too much spare time, so I might as well help others learn! OR possibly destroy you o.O. Kidding. Anyway, I knit, write, and draw, so I'll probably talk about that, haha. Anyway, enjoy!
